Birrarung Marr, meaning 'river of mists' in the Woiwurrung language, is one of Melbourne's newest major parks. Located alongside the Yarra River between Federation Square and Melbourne Park, it serves as a vital link and public space. The park features broad, open terraces, a pedestrian and cyclist bridge connecting to the Royal Botanic Gardens, and significant public art installations, including the 'Angel' sculpture and the Federation Bells. It is designed to host large-scale events and festivals. The park has public barbecues available. Dogs must be kept on a leash. There is no dedicated parking for the park itself, with visitors typically using nearby paid parking facilities. Entry is free.
