Bay of Islands Coastal Park
Peterborough, Great Ocean Road, VIC
Great Ocean Rd, Peterborough, VIC 3270
Stretching for 32 kilometres between Peterborough and Warrnambool, the Bay of Islands Coastal Park is a quieter but equally spectacular cousin to the Port Campbell National Park. The park protects a fragile coastline of towering limestone cliffs, arches, and sea stacks sculpted by the ocean's power. Numerous lookouts, such as the Bay of Martyrs and the Bay of Islands, provide stunning photo opportunities and chances to appreciate the rugged beauty. Short walking tracks connect the lookouts, and access is available to several beautiful, secluded beaches. Dogs are permitted on-leash on some beaches, but restrictions apply, so it is best to check local signage. Facilities include car parks and some picnic tables at the main lookouts. Entry is free.
