Barmah National Park, part of the larger Barmah-Millewa Forest, is a Ramsar-listed wetland of international importance. The park is defined by the majestic River Red Gums that thrive in the cycle of flooding from the Murray River, creating a vibrant ecosystem teeming with wildlife, especially waterbirds. Visitors can explore the park through a network of walking tracks, scenic drives, and by canoe or kayak on the river and its lagoons. Camping and fishing are popular activities. Several day visitor areas offer picnic tables and basic barbecue facilities. Due to its status as a national park, dogs are not permitted. Entry is free.
