Barakee National Park is located north of Sydney and is managed primarily for conservation. It is connected to Barakee State Conservation Area, forming an ecological link from the Manning River floodplain to the Great Dividing Range. It is a remote park with minimal visitor infrastructure, offering a natural experience for experienced hikers and 4WD enthusiasts. Due to its remote nature, it is essential to be self-sufficient. Parking & Fees: Entry to the park is free. Visitors should check NPWS alerts for closures, particularly after significant weather or fire events, as infrastructure may be affected.
