Arakwal National Park

Arakwal National Park is located just south-east of the Byron Bay town centre. It extends along the coast from the Cape Byron State Conservation Area and protects important coastal ecosystems, including Tallow Beach. The park is jointly managed and is a place of deep cultural significance to the Arakwal people. Visitor activities focus on walking, birdwatching, and enjoying the beach. Dog walking is strictly prohibited in the park. Parking & Fees: Entry to the park is free. Parking is available at the Cosy Corner carpark (end of Tallow Beach Road). The park is always open but may close due to weather or fire danger.
