Altona Coastal Park preserves coastal saltmarshes and mudflats important for migratory shorebirds. It occupies the site of the former Williamstown Racecourse, with interpretive signs and remnants like old gates. Walking tracks and boardwalks allow birdwatching. Dogs are restricted to protect wildlife.
